Note that this is not the same as seven pages: if there is a seventh page, there must be nothing on it but references. If the paper includes figures and tables, the text in them must be readable at 100% magnification and in greyscale. Figures and tables must be readable in the printed version of the paper.

For template and submission guidelines please see: Submission Guidelines.

Short Papers

Short papers are expected to present unpublished, original work in progress or in the early stages related to empirical or theoretical research relevant to the topics of human-centered AI Education and Practice. Short papers are expected to follow the same format and themes of interest as the full research paper track. The distinction is that the works in this track should satisfy one of the following criteria:

Student work

Work in progress

Pilot findings

The paper title must end with “(Student work)” or “(Work in progress)” or “(Pilot findings)”

For template and submission guidelines please see: Submission Guidelines

Posters

The posters program provides an informal venue for scholarly submissions within the scope of HCAI-EP’26: whether it be completed work, work in progress, or a successful system or application. It serves to foster discussion amongst the community and provide feedback for authors. We additionally welcome poster submissions on projects that have been previously published but for which additional dissemination and discussion are desired. Dedicated poster presentations and fast-forward sessions will be included in the conference program.

A submission for a poster is a one-page paper. It is expected that this will include title, authors, abstract and keywords, with the rest of the page consisting of an extended abstract. The poster abstract should be relevant to researchers in Human-Centred AI Education and Practice. Example posters could include initial ideas, experimental designs, pedagogical techniques, tools, or early proposals to address open challenges in Human-Centred AI Education or Practice. The nature of the content will vary from poster to poster, but it should clearly outline the main topic and include relevant references where applicable.

For previously unpublished work, authors have the option to have their poster abstracts published in the ACM Digital Library if desired. Papers not accepted to the main track may be given the option to present as a poster (extended abstract), providing opportunities for feedback and discussion that can strengthen the work for future submissions. There are two rounds of poster proposal submissions, please see the timeline below.

Poster abstracts that presenters would like to be considered for presentation at the conference must be submitted via Easychair. Authors should consult the detailed submission format instructions and guidelines for poster abstracts before submitting.

For template and submission guidelines, please see: Submission Guidelines

HCAI-ep will be held face-to-face, and all presenters will be required to present their poster in person during a dedicated time slot.
